Dance in the News: Six-Year-Old Breakdancing Girl Wows Crowd at International Competition
by Arturo Garciavia The Raw Story
A 6-year-old breakdancing phenom is on the verge of becoming an online star after video of her performance at an international competition was posted on YouTube on Sunday.
The girl, identified as “Bgirl Terra,” was filmed competing in the “Baby Battle” division of the Chelles Battle Pro tournament in Paris against an unidentified older boy. The footage of their battle has already drawn more than 250,000 views in just two days.
Though no slouch himself, the boy quickly found himself just as impressed as the crowd; at one point in their battle, he points toward Terra in acknowledgement of her skills.
The Huffington Post reported on Monday that Terra, a member of London dance troupe the Soul Mavericks, would go on to the finals of her competition, ultimately losing to 11-year-old American Jalen Testerman, aka “Bboy Jstyles.” However, event organizers said on Twitter that Terra received a special award for her efforts.
Watch Terra light up the floor at the Chelles Battle Pro “Baby Battle,” posted on YouTube by “MoBo1982″ on Sunday, below.

This month in DC History:
I bought these four comics in 2013. Today got all kinds of messed up. As I was looking for characters who were introduced for the upcoming articles, I was looking for several months at one time. The character I had for today was actually introduced in June (although the book says May) and not March. Since I’m still not all booked up, I decided to move him to May 30 and you can read about him then. What else happened in 2013? (Some facts, mostly opinions, no jokes)
- There were some pretty good crossovers (and I’m not a fan of those) like Death of the Family and Throne of Atlantis. And let’s just face it, Green Lantern has be just one big crossover since before Blackest Night.
- The Young Justice comic ended. That was sad. It been the best thing I’ve read every month since the first issue. I’m sad Wendy and Marvin never showed up in it, though.
- Vibe got his own title. And I liked it. I think DC needs to branch out a little more from the trinity and the Bat family. Not that those are bad but they have so many characters that even if you didn’t know anything about Vibe’s previous life, he feels like a fresh new character. Also I hope Gypsy becomes a bigger character in this book.
How Catwoman Almost Looked in New 52 and What Got Covered Up in Catwoman #2
When DC rebooted their universe for the new 52 they redesigned the costumes of every major character - Superman lost the red underpants, Wonder Woman lost the stars, and even Batman got tweaked. One character remained virtually unchanged - Catwoman. When she popped in the new 52 she was wearing the same costume that Darwyn Cooke had designed for her years before albeit the zipper seemed to be down more than ever before.
But that wasn’t always the plan.
Guillem March actually submitted a variety of new costumes for the character. And not surprising they show are either skin tight or show a lot of skin.
FOD Behind the Scenes
We’re shooting today with Jim Carrey! Actually, he’s doing most of the shooting.
